Pada September 2016 – Maret 2017 yang lalu, Kesima Bening Pagi, mahasiswa angkatan 2013 mengikuti pertukaran pelajar STEP-YU di Yamagata University, Jepang. Dia berkesempatan melakukan penelitian dan mengikuti kuliah bersama mahasiswa Jepang. Penelitiannya mengenai Effect of mud snail, Cipangopaludina chinensis laeta, on aquatic-plants and algae. Walaupun penelitiannya tidak terkait langsung dengan mikrobiologi, namun bisa mendapatkan pengalaman hidup di Jepang tanpa biaya dari orang tua, mengerti semangat kerja keras yang ditanamkan di Jepang, membuat Bening termotivasi untuk menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik.

On September 2016 – March 2017, Kesima Bening Pagi our student from 2013 year, joined STEP-YU exchange program at Yamagata University, Japan. She had chance to do research and attend lecture with other Japanese students. Her research was about The effect of mud snail, Cipangopaludina chinensis laeta, on aquatic-plants and algae. Even though the research was not really related to microbiology, but she could get living experience in Japan without parents’ money, understanding their hard work spirit that makes her motivated to become a better person, as she said.
