Yogyakarta, September 16, 2023 – The Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), conducted a training on class seminar and thesis writing with Donny Widianto as the speaker and Head of the Department of Agricultural Microbiology. The training took place through a physical meeting at the Rachmiwati Building, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM. Participants included Agricultural Microbiology students, primarily from the 2021 batch, who will be taking the Class Seminar and Thesis courses in the upcoming semester. The main objective of this activity is to enhance participants’ understanding of writing seminars and theses, enabling them to produce high-quality academic work.
In this training, Donny provided guidance on several key aspects of class seminar and thesis writing. As an expert in agricultural microbiology, Donny shared insights and practical experiences with the students. Topics covered include steps in finding relevant seminar topics, writing techniques adhering to scientific principles, and technical aspects related to the process of submitting class seminar and thesis proposals in the Department of Agricultural Microbiology.
The training also dedicated a specific portion to technical skills, where students delved deeply into the process of submitting class seminars and theses. This encompassed administrative procedures, technical requirements, and the correct method of composition. With an emphasis on adherence to scientific principles, students are expected to produce high-quality academic work that meets academic standards. Donny Widianto, the Head of the Department of Agricultural Microbiology, hopes that this training will serve as a positive initial step for students to better understand the procedures for writing class seminars and theses, ultimately supporting their academic development and preparing them for their final tasks in their studies.
