The Department of Social Affairs of PERMAHAMI (Association of Microbiology Students) organized a social event titled “Open Hand, Open Heart” on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Sayap Ibu Foundation, located at Jl. Rajawali No.3, Pringwulung, Condongcatur, Sleman. The event took place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and was attended by the 2025/2026 daily board members of PERMAHAMI.

SBB (Sosmas Bagi-Bagi) is one of the flagship programs of PERMAHAMI’s Department of Social Affairs, designed to foster social awareness and compassion, especially for children in orphanages. This activity aimed to bring happiness, love, and a fun play experience to the children at the Sayap Ibu Foundation.

In a warm and joyful atmosphere, PERMAHAMI members directly engaged with the children through various activities such as educational games, singing together, interactive storytelling, and the distribution of gifts. The event not only served as a moment of sharing joy but also as an important reflection for students to strengthen values of empathy and social concern.

The Head of the Department of Social Affairs of PERMAHAMI stated that through the theme “Open Hand, Open Heart”, this activity is hoped to become more than just a routine act of giving—it should symbolize hands open to give and hearts open to care.

“Through this moment, we want to build awareness that as students, we do not only play a role in academics, but we must also be actively involved in social activities that bring real benefits to the community,” she said.

The event concluded with a joint prayer and symbolic handover of gifts to the foundation. The foundation welcomed the students’ initiative and expressed hope for continued collaboration in the future.

Through the successful implementation of SBB 2025, PERMAHAMI has once again demonstrated its commitment to being an organization that is not only intellectually capable but also socially conscious. This activity is expected to help realize the Faculty of Agriculture’s awareness and commitment to achieving the global goals of SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
