The Department of Agricultural Microbiology held a Farewell Party on Friday, May 31, 2024. The event, which was held at the Agrocomplex Integrated Laboratory, Gadjah Mada University, was attended by all lecturers, education staff, casual daily workers (THL), and research students. The event began with a warm welcome from the Head of the Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Ir. Donny Widianto, Ph.D. The Farewell party was held for one of the research assistants in the Department, Qiurita Fortuna.
“On behalf of the entire academic community of the Department of Microbiology, I would like to thank you for all the efforts of Sister Qiurita in helping the smooth running of practicum, research, and accreditation activities in the Department. Congratulations on taking the next life and good luck always, all his goals are achieved, “said Donny.
The event continued with the presentation of a memento by the Head of the Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Ir. Donny Widianto, Ph.D to Sister Qiurita. Donny hopes that Qiurita will be more successful with the journey that will be taken next. The event continued with the delivery of impressions and messages from Qiurita.
“I would like to thank the lecturers, education staff, THL friends, and research students. I have gained a lot of knowledge, lab skills, and experience while working at the Department of Agricultural Microbiology. Hopefully my fellow undergraduate students who are still conducting research will be given smoothness in their research and always succeed,” said Qiurita.
The Farewell party also welcomed a new lecturer for one of the lecturers in the Department of Microbiology, Yumechris Amekan, S.Si., M.Biotech, Ph.D. or often called Miki. Miki graduated from S1 at Duta Wacana Christian University, then continued her S2 studies at the UGM Master of Biotechnology Study Program, followed by S3 studies at the University of York, UK. The event continued with the delivery of remarks from Miki.
“I thank you for the opportunity that has been given, in Microbiology I pursue anaerobic fermentation, then for the dynamics in Microbiology, please provide guidance and direction, thank you,” said Miki. The event was closed with a prayer led by the Head of the Agricultural Microbiology Study Program, Ir. Ngadiman, M.Si., Ph.D. as well as a group photo.
This synergy is a strong evidence to achieve the goal of SDG 4: Quality Education.
