From August 24 to August 25, 2024, the Social and Community Department (Sosmas) collaborated with the Sports and Arts Department (Mikat) to conduct an environmental awareness activity. This event, held at Bukit Klangon, Cangkringan, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, was a clean-up initiative aimed at fostering care for the environment and strengthening bonds among PERMAHAMI members. The two-day activity was designed to combine environmental action with recreational activities to deepen the sense of camaraderie among members.
On the first day, the main activity was a large-scale environmental clean-up. PERMAHAMI members gathered to collect scattered plastic waste and other litter. This initiative aimed to raise awareness of the importance of environmental cleanliness and to contribute to ecosystem preservation. It also served as a platform to instill a sense of social responsibility and environmental care among all participants.
Following the clean-up, the event continued with a series of fun and engaging games. These activities not only brought joy but also fostered teamwork and camaraderie among the participants. Laughter and healthy competition filled the air, creating unforgettable moments for everyone involved. In the evening, the group gathered around a bonfire for a sharing session. Participants sat together, enjoying the warm atmosphere as members shared stories about campus life and reflected on the importance of environmental conservation. This bonding session strengthened emotional connections and solidarity among members.
The second day featured free activities, allowing participants to enjoy the sunrise and explore the beauty of Bukit Klangon. The event concluded with a group photo session as a keepsake before the participants returned to the city with renewed enthusiasm and a heightened awareness of the importance of preserving nature and fostering fellowship.
This activity is expected to become an annual tradition for PERMAHAMI, combining environmental care with community-building activities. The synergy of this initiative strongly supports achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 15: Life on Land.
