The Agricultural Microbiology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, successfully held its first graduation ceremony for the January 2025 period on Friday, January 17, 2025. This event marked a significant academic milestone for students who have completed all their coursework and final projects.
One of the graduates honored during this memorable occasion was Merytania Desafira, a student who has demonstrated dedication and hard work throughout her studies in agricultural microbiology. With immense gratitude and pride, Merytania is now officially awarded the title of Bachelor of Agriculture (S.P.), marking the beginning of her journey toward meaningful contributions in the professional and academic world.
The solemn graduation ceremony took place in the Agricultural Microbiology Library Room and was attended by the faculty members of the Agricultural Microbiology program. In his speech, the Head of the Study Program expressed appreciation for the graduates’ perseverance and encouraged them to continue advancing the knowledge they have gained to support the sustainable development of Indonesian agriculture.
Merytania Desafira conveyed her heartfelt thanks to her lecturers, family, and friends who supported her academic journey. “This graduation is not the end, but the beginning of a new journey. I hope to apply the knowledge I’ve learned to bring real benefits to society and the environment,” she said.
With enthusiasm and knowledge gained from her studies, Merytania is expected to become an agent of change in various agricultural sectors, particularly in the development and utilization of microorganisms to support food security and a healthy ecosystem. This event reflects the awareness and commitment of the Faculty of Agriculture in contributing to the achievement of the global SDG 4 goal: Quality Education.
