The Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture UGM, once again organized an industrial visit as part of its effort to broaden students’ insights. On Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10.00 to 11.00 WIB, students had the opportunity to visit PT Amerta Indah Otsuka Kejayan, a company engaged in the production of beverages and health nutrition products.

Carrying the theme “Reactor of Collaboration: Transforming Ideas, Weaving Synergy”, the activity was analogized as a reactor, where raw materials are transformed into something of greater value. Through this visit, students were expected to gain a deeper understanding of how academic knowledge is applied in real-world industrial practices. Direct interaction with the company also provided valuable learning opportunities regarding production standards, quality management, and innovation in maintaining product excellence.

This industrial visit not only served as a medium of learning but also as a bridge of collaboration between academia and industry. Guided and facilitated by the company, students were able to gain broader perspectives on both the challenges and opportunities in developing food and health-related products. The activity is expected to spark new ideas and strengthen synergies that will benefit the advancement of knowledge as well as students’ professional development in the future.

The activity also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by fostering knowledge exchange, preparing future professionals, and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
