Fieldwork (Kerja Lapangan/KL) from January 6–31, 2025, was carried out by four students—Ravinella An Naura, Almayra Khanza Fahrani, Naza Alimah, and Sherly Aurora Cahyadewi—at PT Ajinomoto. This activity served as direct learning in the industry, particularly in the fields of microbiology, chemistry, and organizational management. Over the course of nearly a month, the students had the opportunity to observe the company’s work processes while also practicing the skills they had previously learned in the classroom.

The Agricultural Microbiology Study Program held its second graduation ceremony for the January 2025 period on Friday, January 31, 2025. The event, held at the Agricultural Microbiology Library, 4th Floor of the AGLC Building, marked an important milestone for students who have completed their academic journey.
One of the graduates formally recognized at this ceremony was Kartawijaya, who officially earned the title of Bachelor of Agriculture (S.P.) after completing all stages of study and a final project in agricultural microbiology.
The Agricultural Microbiology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, successfully held its first graduation ceremony for the January 2025 period on Friday, January 17, 2025. This event marked a significant academic milestone for students who have completed all their coursework and final projects.
One of the graduates honored during this memorable occasion was Merytania Desafira, a student who has demonstrated dedication and hard work throughout her studies in agricultural microbiology. With immense gratitude and pride, Merytania is now officially awarded the title of Bachelor of Agriculture (S.P.), marking the beginning of her journey toward meaningful contributions in the professional and academic world.
The Agricultural Microbiology Study Program once again conducted an Academic Progress Evaluation activity, this time aimed at students from the 2019 and 2020 cohorts. The event was held online via Zoom Meeting on Thursday, January 16, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM WIB.
Led directly by the Head of the Agricultural Microbiology Study Program, Ir. Ngadiman, M.Si., Ph.D., the session aimed to gather student feedback on the dynamics of lectures, academic advising, and study progress. Despite being held virtually, the discussion was active and interactive, reflecting the students’ enthusiasm in sharing their insights and challenges.
The Agricultural Microbiology Study Program held an Academic Progress Evaluation activity for students of the 2018 cohort on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Taking place at the Agricultural Microbiology Library Room, 4th Floor of the AGLC Building, this event served as an important forum for reflecting on the students’ academic journey and identifying solutions to the challenges faced during their studies.
The event was led directly by the Head of the Agricultural Microbiology Study Program, Ir. Ngadiman, M.Si., Ph.D., who actively engaged in dialogue with the invited students. The students invited to participate included: Merytania Desafira, Kukuh Wahyu Jatmiko, Isyhar Haafish A, Fajar Nugrahanto, Irsad Ardianto, Kartawijaya, Lia Angraini, Masfira, and Salsabiela Fauzia.
The Agricultural Microbiology Student Association, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), successfully held the Micrographia Appreciation Night 2024, a two-day bonding event that took place from Saturday, November 2, to Sunday, November 3, 2024. This event aimed to strengthen relationships among members while providing a platform to showcase talents, creativity, and achievements. Held in a warm and inviting setting, the event blended a family-like atmosphere with artistic and cultural appreciation activities.
The Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), successfully held its 2024 Family Gathering with the theme “Happiness Together.” The event took place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture, UGM. It was attended by lecturers, current students, alumni, and academic staff. Designed to strengthen intergenerational ties within the department, the gathering brought together founders, alumni, and the newest class of students, creating a warm atmosphere full of camaraderie and family spirit.
On October 26, 2024, the Agrocomplex Laboratory hosted a workshop on making kombucha, a fermented beverage increasingly popular for its health benefits. Kombucha, a fermented tea drink, is rich in probiotics, enzymes, and other nutrients that promote digestive health and boost immunity. In addition to its health advantages, kombucha has significant economic potential as a trendy product in the healthy beverage market. The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the kombucha production process while encouraging participants to explore the economic opportunities associated with this fermented drink.
The Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held a graduation ceremony for seven students on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The solemn event took place in the Ecology Laboratory Room, AGLC Building, 6th Floor, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This ceremony marked a significant milestone for the students who had completed their academic journey in the Department of Agricultural Microbiology. Attendees included academic advisors and examiners, present to honor and support the graduates’ achievements.
The Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), conducted an internal quality audit (AMI) visitation on Thursday, October 3, 2024. The event took place from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Department of Microbiology Secretariat. This activity is part of efforts to enhance academic quality, governance, and services in line with the standards set by UGM and the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI).
The audit began with a welcome speech by the Head of the Department of Agricultural Microbiology, who emphasized the importance of AMI as an evaluation process for the department’s work plan implementation. The speech was followed by an explanation of the audit’s objectives, which included ensuring that all department programs and activities align with quality standards and promoting continuous improvement.
